What is Bambara and where is it spoken?

Bambara (Bamanankan) is a Manding language of the Mande family, the most widely spoken language in Mali. Roughly 4 million people speak it natively and around 14 million as a second language. It uses SOV word order, two contrastive tones, and is most commonly written in a modified Latin alphabet with letters like ɛ, ɔ, ɲ and ŋ.
