El fula (Fulfulde / Pulaar / Pular / Fula) es una lengua senegambiana de la familia níger-congo hablada por unos 40 millones de personas en una veintena de países, de Senegal a Sudán. No hay un único estándar; entre las grandes variedades regionales están el pulaar en Senegal, el pular en Guinea, el fulfulde en Nigeria y Massina, y el fulfulde de Adamawa en Camerún.
El fula se ha escrito en latino (con diacríticos para ɓ, ɗ, ƴ y ŋ), en ajami (una escritura árabe modificada común en las comunidades musulmanas) y, desde 1989, en adlam, una escritura alfabética inventada por los hermanos Barry en Guinea específicamente para el fulfulde.
